New Leadership Programme for education & learning professionals

Applications are invited from colleagues working in education and learning roles in the arts to participate in the Extend Leadership Programme, from engage - the National Association for Gallery Education.

Comprising a tailor-made programme of residentials, placements, mentoring and peer networking, Extend aims to give participants the confidence and skills to achieve a greater degree of leadership in the future. This could be through gaining a leadership position or by achievements that raise the status of the profession as a whole.

Extend is open to mid-career professionals (either employed or self-employed) who:

• Have experience working in the arts sector in an education and learning role;
• Are resident in England, Wales or Scotland;
• Are able to commit fully to each element of the programme (please see residential dates, above);
• If employed, can provide evidence that their employer is committed to their participation in the programme.

We welcome applications from colleagues in England and Scotland across all art forms and in Wales from colleagues working in the visual arts, and are keen to recruit a participant cohort that reflects the diversity of the cultural sector. The programme will support 12 participants and will run from April 2010 – March 2011.
